In this new series we’ll be picking out some of our favourite YouTube channels and letting you know why we think they’re so great. From advice on how to ace a job interview to relaxing videos to help you achieve total mindfulness, you’ll catch it all on the VCR (Video Channel Reviews) feature.
Today we’re talking all things beauty and lifestyle with one of my personal favourites, blogger and YouTube beauty maven Lily Pebbles.
London-based Lily started her blog in 2010 whilst studying at university, and has since gone on to create a YouTube channel on which she uploads videos three times a week, focusing on her beauty tricks and tips, her life in London and general beauty and style secrets.
Lily’s channel generally focuses on beauty, so if you’re a product junkie then this it the one for you. She is genuinely honest in her beauty reviews and doesn’t buy into beauty fads, which is what you need when it comes to product recommendations – her video reviewing disappointing product packing is one example of this.
Her weekly vlogs show her personality and how she spends not just her working week but her off-time, and I love watching them for restaurant picks and ways to make the most of London life.
Her haul videos are dangerous territory for anyone prone to product-envy, and check out her beauty tutorials for make-up inspiration for any occasion. Adding to this is her regular beauty chat with fellow YouTuber Vivianna Does Make-Up, in which the two friends answer questions from their subscribers about any given topic.
One must-see is her review of the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Mary Kondo, in which Lily talks about her experience with the guide to getting organised. You may have heard a lot about this book recently, and Lily’s discussion of it is a great place to start if you’re tempted to give it a read.
That’s a lot to take in. You’re best off heading over to YouTube and exploring for yourself!
