Zac Efron‘s celebrates his 25th birthday today!
We loved him in movies like Hairspray, The Paperboy, The Lucky One and 17 Again, (okay and the High School Musical trilogy too…).
Zac‘s gorgeous baby blues and ripped body give us plenty to look at, and we think he’s a really nice bloke too.
We think he’s SO nice, in fact, that we’ve compiled a MASSIVE gallery where we’ll tell you why we love him.
Happy Birthday, Zac! BS
Zac Efron shot to fame via Disney's High School Musical trilogy, after making TV appearances in shows like ER, Firefly, NCIS and Summerland, and performing in plays like Gypsy and The Little Shop Of Horrors. He deferred a place at USC to pursue his acting career, finding love and a five year relationship with HSM costar Vanessa Hudgens, before rumoured romance with Lily Collins. Friends with stars including his The Lorax costar Taylor Swift and actresses Brittany Snow and Ashley Tisdale, Zac's carved out his very own place in Hollywood, graduating from child star to serious adult actor with roles in Hairspray with Nikki Blonsky, 17 Again with Matthew Perry and Leslie Mann, The Lucky One, and The Paperboy with Matthew McConaughey and Nicole Kidman. In his spare time he goes surfing, collects signed baseballs with autographs from the San Francisco Giants, and repairs cars. Needless to say, we love Zac - and here are 25 reasons why!
He's successfully navigated child stardom to adult fame, with his new role opposite Nicole Kidman in upcoming movie The Paperboy.
Zachary David Alexander Efron was born on October 18th, 1987.
Conscientious Zac says he would "flip out" if he got anything less than an A in high school.
Have you SEEN those baby blues? Swoon.
Zac truly captured our hearts in 17 Again, playing a 40 year old man transported back into his teenage body, and going to high school alongside his own kids. We love that film!
When he was 11, his dad encouraged him to go into theatre acting, after he used to make his friends laugh as the class clown!
He's committed to his roles, and put on over a stone in weight and muscle to play a marine in The Lucky One.
Zac became a tween heartthrob the world over when he starred in the High School Musical trilogy (alongside Ashley Tisdale).
He deferred a college place at the University of Southern California to focus on his acting career.
When he was just 20 he scored the cover of Rolling Stone, thanks to his High School Musical popularity. They named him the "poster boy for tweenyboppers"!
Zac rocked a quiff as heartthrob Link Larkin in the 2007 remake of Hairspray, alongside John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Zac reckons he wasn't always a looker - after being named one of People's 100 Most Beautiful People in 2007, he bemoaned being the shortest kid in school, with a "huge gap" in his teeth that he was teased for.
Zac watches and plays sports with his younger brother Dylan. He's a great big brother, according to his mum Starla and dad David.
Zac's completely secure in his sexuality - in 2008 he told Details: "Honestly, if the worst [they] can say about me is that I'm gay, then I think I'll be fine. I can handle it."
Before he hit the big screen, he made several TV appearances in shows like ER, Firefly, CSI: Miami, NCIS and Summerland.
Despite his High School Musical castmates Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel putting out albums after the success of the film - AND a record deal offer from Simon Cowell - Zac ducked out of that potential money spinner to focus on acting.
Zac's first crush was Tyra Banks - he stole his mum's Victoria's Secret catalogue and taped a picture of her to his ceiling!
We like a man who can have fun fooling around - here Zac is having fun with The Lorax costar Danny DeVito!
Nothing phases him - he laughed off the total embarrassment of dropping a condom on the red carpet at the premiere of kids' movie The Lorax last year. Oops...
Zac's a collector - he has an autographed baseball collection with signatures from EVERY San Francisco Giants player from the past decade. We can dig a little geekiness…
Zac starred in many of plays at high school, including Gypsy, The Music Man, Peter Pan, and Little Shop of Horrors.
Repairing cars is one of Zac’s passions, and he worked on a Delorean and ’65 Mustang convertible, both hand-me-downs from his grandfather.
We love his off-duty style almost as much as we love him suited and booted!
Zac went through falling in love and ultimately breaking up with his childhood sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens in the public eye. Bless.
Well... Need we say anything more?
