A new season in fashion always brings with it the excitement of the latest campaigns; beautiful images that capture the new collections, all featuring some of our favourite A-list and supermodel faces. Sometimes, these campaigns become immortalised in history, sometimes they’re simply so lovely, we just want to look at them a lot. Some, like YSL’s infamous Opium campaign starring Sophie Dahl can attract controversy, while some are widely celebrated for their creativity.
Either way, we love them. And we can’t help but get all excited for the impending change of season (sartorially, more than anything) when we see them. Fashion’s power players have all started to release their campaigns for AW15 and, while we’re by no means wishing away the summer, we can’t pretend we’re not looking forward to this autumn’s key trends. In fact, there’s more than one new campaign star we’ll be channeling.
Olivia Palermo, for example, is the new face of Max & Co, making us swoon (as usual) with her flawless style as she poses in the label’s vivid brights. And, speaking of brights, Versace recruited Karlie Kloss and her extra-long limbs to show off ensembles including that green coat and choker already worn by Rihanna (shot by Mert & Marcus).
What else is inpsiring us? Well, Alberta Ferretti took to the woods to create a beautifully romantic campaign shot by Peter Lindbergh. Meanwhile, Katy Perry is the much-discussed face of Moschino, modelling her friend, Jeremy Scott’s designs. The images were photographed by legendary team Inez & Vinoodh, and show Katy in a range of looks, from layered gold chains to nearly naked.
Mario Testino gave Burberry’s bohemian collection a gloss-over for AW15, starring up-and-comer Ella Richards, and Givenchy’s new face is none other than Donatella Versace (we know).
But, we have to say our favourites so far include Coach, largely thanks to the use of Lady Gaga’s dog, Miss Asia Kinney, as its campaign star (not kidding) and, of course, Marc Jacobs’ star studded line-up.
Never one to be outdone, Marc Jacobs has been revealing his stars one-by-one via Instagram. Yep, having joined the social media network after having dismissed it as ‘appalling’, Marc has been captivating us with his revelations. First came the one and only Cher, who at 69 looks nothing short of incredible. Then the likes of Willow Smith, Winona Ryder, Sofia Coppola, Anthony Kiedis and 9-year old Betty Lowe (younger sister of Daisy) followed, making for one seriously incredible line-up.
So, without further ado, peruse these sartorial splendours at your leisure, and then decide which you prefer. There’s nothing like a bit of fashion inspo to get you going, is there?
Complimented by on-trend tapestry, midi dresses and seriously stylish accessories, John Lewis' 90-piece And/Or collection is basically the ultimate in laidback chic. Prices start at £22 for a tee and £85 for a pair of their much-coveted jeans. TBH, we want it ALL.
