Spencer Matthews has us questioning his morals on a regluar basis, but then he’ll pull a bro-mantic gesture out the bag and have us wondering how we ever hated him? Take a look through his best and worst Made In Chelsea moments and decide for yourself if Spenny is a sinner or a saint…
Spencer Matthews is the TV villain we all love to hate. He's back-stabbed, argued and cheated his way through the MIC seasons making mistake after boyfriend mistake, but the sheepskin coat-loving Chelsea boy isn't all that bad.
Let's not forget the time he raced to the airport to stop true love Caggie Dunlop from moving to New York, and let's not skirt over the fact that when he's head-over-heels in love, he really tries to pull out all the stops - cue champagne laden lunch in Paris with Lucy Watson.
But seeing as we're torn between sweet Spenny who loves a man-hug and failed-monogomist Matthews who can't keep his manhood in his pants, we thought we'd pick out his best and worst moments to help us decide. Let us know what you think of the notorious Made In Chelsea bad (but sometimes good) boy below...
Doing the dirty is bad enough, but this lost boi seems to have misplaced his morals entirely. The naughty hotel heir cheated on then-girlfriend Louise Thompson in her OWN BED at a wild 'pardy' she wasn't even at.
The love rat denied all knowledge of the romp and it came to down rosy-cheeked Stevie Johnson to coax Spencer in to revealing the sordid deed. He confessed to Weez: "I feel bad and as usual in my pathetic awful manner I want to be honest and tell you the rumours are true." She responded in true dramatic MIC style, saying: "You f****d someone in my bed. This is the lowest of the low."
You can't argue with that, Spenny. Oh, no, you're going to...
I love Caggie THIS MUCH! We all know Spencer has a special place in his heart for his lady-BFF Ms Dunlop, and although his cheating track-record is up there with TOWIE's Mario's, he assures fans that Cags is the one lady he'd keep it in his pants for.
"I don't meant to hurt any of my exes by saying this but if I was in a relationship with Caggie, I could confidently say that I'd never cheat," the Chelsea party-boy revealed to Now. "I know that. All my friends know that. Caggie holds a very special place in my heart."
Seems she's the only lady who can tame the beast, sorry Stephanie Pratt.
"It’s f***ing hard to respect you when you allow me to cheat on you," moaned caught-out womaniser Spencer Matthews in the midst of a rant to Louise Thompson as he broke up with her on a bridge in London (naturally). Probably the most harsh words you can utter after being found out as a cheat. Next time, just say sorry!
There's no denying this MIC star doesn't make an effort when he's keen on a girl. For his first proper date with leggy Lucy Watson, Spencer surprised her with a trip to his favourite fancy restaurant. IN PARIS. Oooh la la.
Not only did he wine and dine his sceptical date in the city of love but Spenny also impressed Lucy with his fluent French, ending the eve with a little smooch. See, he can be a gent when he wants to be.
This game of cat and mouse was always going to end in tears. Ice queen Lucy Watson may have captured Spenny's attention with her dismissive grin as she played the hard-to-get card successfully, but once she was in his grasp the lothario's love quickly wained. Even best pal Jamie Laing was waiting for his 'boi' to slip up. His now-ex recently revealed that Spencer was unfaithful just days into their two-month-long relationship.
"He's now admitted to me that he actually cheated on me in Barcelona, where he'd invited me to ask me to be his girlfriend", Lucy told Now magazine. "We'd only been together for three days." That's one fast mover.
Spenny values his crew almost as much as his Mahiki membership so when him and biscuit boy Jamie Laing fell out over his constant teasing and lady-snatching actions (yes, we're looking at you Kimberley Garner) we had to admit we had a little sniffle.
As much as he lacks monogomy in the romance department, his tight-knit set of pals seem to mean a lot more. The hotel heir swallowed his pride, giving a teary-eyed apology to Jamie. Lesson? Stay in the friend-zone if you want Spencer to say sorry.
Our favourite skateboarding diamond-digger Francis Boulle uncovered lady-lover Spencer Matthews as a cheat after dishing the dirt on the quiffed MIC star and Lucy Watson hooking up when he was still with Louise.
On hearing he'd been caught out, Spencer branded his school boy pal as "childish and spiteful". Pfft. Francis defended himself and told ITV's This Morning that he just "wanted to do the right thing and not treat my friends badly". How can you argue with that?!
Some things are forgivable but sneakily snatching your best friends girl from under his nose when he thinks he's fallen in love is pretty foul-play. And Spencer did exactly that to Candy Kittens owner and co-star Jamie Laing when he slyly slept with Louise Thompson during her birthday trip to Dubai in Season 3.
Jamie confonted his 'boi' on his return and asked "what happened in Dubai? Did you f***ing sleep together? How could you do this to me?" Tears were shed that night, and not just by Jamie. Sob.
Displaying yet again that his bromances tend to be stronger than his romances, Spencer showed he was true BFF material back in Season 2 after blue-eyed bachelor Hugo Taylor was revealed as a cheat.
Romping with close pal Rosie Fortescue behind his gorgeous girlfriend Millie Mackintosh's back, Hugo was caught out and left in tears over what he'd done. What did Spenny do? Gave him mag-hugs, lads' nights out and gin cocktails galore to cheer the chap up.
So, what are you thinking? Saint or sinner? Let us know, below...
