It's 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' movie favourite Matt Bomer's 35th birthday today, October 11th, so we thought we'd take a look back over all the things we love about the 'Magic Mike' actor. From stripping alongside Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Joe Manganiello and looking SO hot shirtless, to his role as Neil Caffrey in TV's White Collar with Tim DeKay and Tiffani Theissen, Matt has made it clear to us he's a top contender for the role of Christian Grey. Matt came out as gay earlier this year, acknowledging his partner Simon Halls and their three children, check out the gorgeous pics in the gallery. Matt's made appearances in TV show Glee, Tru Calling, and The New Normal, and he's good friends with actresses Eliza Dushku, Sophia Bush and Rashida Jones. Matt's not the only famous face that went to his high school - singer (and Julia Roberts' ex husband) Lyle Lovett and 'ER' actress Sherry Stringfield attended before him. He went to high school with 'Breaking Dawn: Part 2's Lee Pace!
When Matt was 16 years old, he stole his brother’s truck for a joyride, only to get a flat tire. He said, “I’ve been a con artist since I was 16 and trying to get my dad to buy me a car. I never succeeded, but I learnt a lot of tactics.”
Matt modelled as one of the main characters for the photographic cover art of the young adult novel 'The Rainbow Boys' by Alex Sanchez, focusing on the issues gay and questioning youth face as they come of age.

Matt worked as a bellman in Hudson hotel in New York before starting work as a soap opera actor.
Matt was at an audition on the 53rd floor of a building at 23rd Street and Eighth Avenue in New York during 9/11. He actually saw one of the planes crash into one of the World Trade Center towers.
Matt acknowledged his partner Simon Halls in public for the first time in February at an awards show, saying: "I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry. Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."
The 'White Collar' star is a huge fan of horror movies. He considers movies including 'Jaws', 'Alien' and 'Scream' to be a big part of his life.
Talking about hanging out with his pals, Matt said: "I’m a pretty chill person. I’m kind of a homebody and I like to just hang out with friends and have dinner. I’m not, you know – I’m definitely not 'White Collar's Neal Caffrey in the sense that I’m not, you know, drinking a $500 bottle of wine at a nightclub. I’m just – I’m pretty chill.”
His father is a former American footballer, Dallas Cowboy John Bomer, and his mother's name is Sissi. He has a brother named Neill and a sister named Megan.

Matt might look perfect all dressed up in a suit, but he's not afraid to get sporty. In fact, he thought about playing American Football professionally: “I had to weigh my options, which were limited if I continued playing football. Honestly, I wasn’t that good. I was always that fringe guy anyway, the guy who played football and then did the musicals.”
We loved Stanford in 'Sex and the City', and Matt hangs out with actor Willie Garson regularly now that he stars with him in TV series 'White Collar'.

Matt happily supports charities he believes in, and has taken part in the Revlon Run/Walk For Women with his partner and sons for the past few years: “I am interested in every charity I can help. Not to assume that I have any status or anything, but any way that this show provides me to let me use whatever spotlight I have to let me help other people, I’m just really psyched about doing it, because that’s the responsibility of putting yourself in the public eye.”
Matt graduated from Carnegie Mellon university in 1999, with a Bachelor Of Fine Arts degree. Impressive!

'Saved By The Bell' is a CLASSIC TV series, and Matt's lucky enough to hang out with star Tiffani Theissen all the time on the 'White Collar' set. She loves Matt too, saying: “Matt is so much fun to work alongside. Besides being beautiful to look at, of course, he makes you laugh and smile nonstop. He’s got a light about him that is infectious. He’s one special guy.”
Matt started his acting career in American soap 'All My Children', and went on to be the third incarnation of a character on another soap, 'Guiding Light'. How Joey Tribbiani! Of his start, he said: “Watching them (soap operas) it just didn’t seem like something that I really was that interested in, but actually getting to work on one, you realise it’s pretty a good place to hone your craft and a great place to make a lot of mistakes kind of early on and it’s not gonna matter.”
In the summer of 2007, Matt starred as Ernest Hemingway in the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of 'Villa America'. He's also managed to tread the boards in plays and musicals including 'Spring Awakening', 'Romeo And Juliet', 'Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat', and 'A Streetcar Named Desire'.
Matt Bomer has three gorgeous children - Kit is 7 years old, while twins Henry and Walker are 4. Adorable!

Matt's more comfortable in casual clothes, saying: “I’ve been more of a jeans and T-shirt kind of guy, but when you dress like Neal [his 'White Collar' character] does every day, you start to have an appreciation for the finer things in life – so my wardrobe budget has definitely increased!”
Matt was ALMOST Superman in 'Superman Returns', before original director Brett Ratner dropped out and Brandon Routh was cast: “I went through all the screen tests, and it was pretty much understood that [director] Brett Ratner and I would be doing it. It all kind of fell apart. The whole experience was so fast and sudden—it was impossible for me to take in while it was happening. But just being attached to Superman actually gave a great boost to my career.”
The movie is based in the future where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year... so they have to buy time.
Joe Manganiello praised his 'Magic Mike' co-star Matt Bomer at the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network’s Respect Awards, saying: “You are the example that the rest of our country needs to wake up and see in terms of equality and putting an end to the bullying epidemic and making sure that every family is respected in our schools and our society.”
Not only a pretty face, Matt was also voted 'Best Personality' and one of the twenty chosen as 'Who’s Who' as a high school senior at his school.
