Katy Perry is certainly no wallflower when it comes to style. In fact, whether it’s her purple hair, *that* cupcake bra or those barely-there bodysuits, one can always count on Miss Perry to provide us with a rather outlandish fashion display. And while her red carpet and off-duty get-ups are both particularly bold, her music video looks are even more out there. Who remembers the scene of her squirting whip cream from her bra in ‘California Gurls’, or when she dressed up as an Egyptian goddess in ‘Dark Horse’ (complete with blue hair, obvs)? Her recent ‘Prismatic’ world tour also acted as the perfect playing field for some sartorial statement-making; the singer donned a one-of-a-kind light-up co-ord as well as a ‘Wicked-esque’ green sequin sunflower-adorned frock. Of course, a collection of rainbow-hued hair shades remained closely in tow.
And, when serious pap-attracting comes as part of the package, it’s no surprise that some of fashion’s biggest designers flock to Katy’s feet in a bid to have their pieces worn by her. Take Moschino. Kate donned the ubiquitous McDonald’s dress design back in March 2014 at a press conference in Japan, and induced a huge fashion frenzy over the pattern in the process. Since, Miss Perry has rocked some of the designer’s most unique designs, including that jaw-dropping strapless peplum hem gown and fingerless glove pairing at the Met Gala this May.
But, while Miss Perry is no stranger to wearing a designer or two, she is definitely no clothes-horse. In fact, her brazen, confident attitude is what makes her looks. After all, who else could pull off a gold bird costume featuring hand-made feather wings and sequin bodice for a performance on the X Factor? We only wish.. So, without further ado, we have put together Katy’s greatest fashion moments just for your viewing. Enjoy.
