Beloved by the British film industry, actress Felicity Jones has probably only come to your attention this year because of her Oscar nomination for The Theory Of Everything, the lauded Stephen Hawkins biopic in which she starred alongside Best Actor winner Eddie Redmayne.
What you might not know is that Felicity has been on our sartorial radar for some time now. Her penchant for beautiful designer gowns and loyalty to homegrown couture has often seen her shoot to the top of red carpet ‘best-dressed’ lists, and since being multi-nominated for her portrayal of Jane Wilde in The Theory of Everything, all eyes of the fashion world are now firmly trained on Felicity. Oh, and she’s also fronted campaigns for the likes of Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry. Yep, this girl is in demand.
And what we love about Ms Jones is that she isn’t afraid to take red carpet risks. At the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s ‘Reel Stories, Real Lives’ back in 2011, Felicity rocked a rather unconventional Proenza Schouler combo which featured a black A-line eel skin skirt with orange and white stripes, and matching white polo top with leather accents and an intricately woven Peter Pan collar.
But it’s been during her press and award tour for The Theory of Everything that Felicity has truly cemented herself as a rising style star. Every event outfit she wore drew a collective and awe-inspired gasp form noted fashion industry insiders and fans alike. McQueen, Valenetino, Dior – all of these covetable fashion houses seem to love a slice of Felicity. Our particular favourite was the opulent teal Christian Dior satin gown Felicity wore for the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards earlier in the year. Simply stunning. And that grey Alexander McQueen floor sweeper she wore to the Oscars? There are simply too many Felicity Jones fashion moments for us to choose from.
We’ve compiled some of Felicity’s best style moments and we’ll leave it up to you to decide which one is best – we think you’ll have your work cut out. One thing is certain; Felicity Jones is one name you need to make a fashion note of. We can’t wait for more.
