Cannes Film Festival: Most Iconic Red-Carpet Moments

Undoubtedly one of the most iconic nights on the fashion calendar, the Cannes Film Festival is always guaranteed to ooze glamour and gorgeousness at every turn. This year, we’re expecting to have dress envy from the likes of Sienna Miller and Marion Cotillard who will be gracing the occassion in their most-loved designers.

In celebration of the event, we are remembering the most iconic red-carpet moments of all time from the most glamorous film festival on earth.

When you think of Cannes, your mind can’t help but go to stars like Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly, who brought an elegant presence to the film festival throughout their careers. From full-on ball gowns to fashion-forward slinky nighties, the most iconic women of the past century have walked the Cannes red carpet and stunned the world in the process. Whether it was Sophia Loren, Princess Diana or Angelina Jolie, fashion’s greatest have been sure to make jaws drop with their style credentials alone.

But it’s not only about fashion – the Cannes couples tend to make for memorable red-carpet moments too. From Elizabeth Taylor and Mike Dodd in the Fifties to a very Nineties and very loved-up Kate Moss and Johnny Depp and last year’s gorgeous pairing of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, the Cannes red carpet is a hotbed of beautiful couples decked out in their designer finery. We wonder who will be the most glam pair this time around…

Whether remembered for their pure beauty (Sophia Loren’s 1955 white ball gown) or their shock factor (Madonna’s Jean Paul Gaultier underwear statement), the Cannes red carpet is always sure to deliver an iconic moment or two each year and we expect 2015 to be no different. From Cate Blanchett’s appearance to Rooney Mara and Emily Blunt, find out why we’re so excited about Cannes 2015 here.

So, as we await the gorgeous gowns to start gracing our screens from Wednesday on, let’s remember the most iconic Cannes moments of all time! Enjoy!
