11 Of The Very Best BAFTA Moments

When it comes to red carpet events, the BAFTAs (British Academy Film Awards, in case you’re wondering) well and truly reign supreme. Yep, a slew of world-renowned stars come out in their masses to celebrate the event, and what follows is ALWAYS an evening worth talking about.

Now, it’s only a matter of time before the 2016 awards unfold, so we’ve decided to dig deep in the BAFTA memory vault and bring back all the very best moments that have gone down so far. From shocked reactions, seriously emosh acceptance speeches and rare romantic reunions, these snaps are so good you’ll feel as though you were practically there…

Back in 1992, none other than film icon Audrey Hepburn received the Special Award, wearing a suitably pristine frock and jewels to match, obvs. Then, Scarlett Johansson got her first BAFTA as Leading Actress for her spell-binding performance in Lost In Translation. And as well as quite literally taking home the gold, the actress chose to sport a matching gold frock for the occasion. Fast-forward a few years to 2010 and Kristen Stewart took home her very first BAFTA in the form of the Orange Rising Star Award.

It’s not just what goes down on stage that we like to reminisce on, though. Who remembers when Penelope Cruz and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted hanging out together backstage in 2007? And what about when Samuel L Jackson, Ben Affleck, George Clooney and Grant Heslov gave us serious squad goals back in 2013?

As for performances, Tinie Tempah’s duo with award-winning Laura Mvula gave us goosebumps the moment they opened their mouths. Last but not least, we can’t go without mentioning the moment TV faves Ant and Dec got the recognition they deserve in the form of not one, but two awards (for the second year in a row).

See for yourselves…
