The nation tuned in for the live launch of the new series of CBB. But a few fans took to Twitter to point out something they weren't too happy with...
After weeks of speculation over who might be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, viewers across the nation tuned in to see who made the line-up. And, we have to say, it seems like a pretty fun-loving bunch.
Christopher Biggins was the first to walk through those shiny doors, followed by Loose Women’s Saira Khan, Ariana Grande’s brother (and YouTube sensation) Frankie and EastEnders‘ Ricky Norwood AKA Fatboy.
Channel 5 also introduced Geordie Shore‘s Marnie Simpson, Mob Wives‘ Renee Graziano, controversial radio host James Whale, Ex On The Beach‘s Stephen Bear and X Factor‘s Katie Waissel.
TOWIE’s Lewis Bloor, Grant Bovey, Chloe Khan AKA Chloe Mafia, Heavy D who’s actually called Colin (Boom!) and Sam Fox also joined the cast list.
But some viewers thought there was something missing.
Social media, naturally, was offering a running commentary to the Channel 5 show, with the hashtag taking the top spot in trending topics for the evening. There was a lot of opinions floating around, natch.
And there were quite a few tweets asking the same question…
Reactions included: ‘There’s no black celebs?! #CBBUK’, ‘wait I thought they would put at least 1 black person #cbbuk’ and ‘Bit like the Oscars this year ain’t it… #CBBUK’.
Others took issue with the line-up for a whole other reason.
Sure, there’s always the running joke of how ‘famous’ the contestants are, but many were drawing comparisons between this year’s regular Big Brother and the CBB faces.
Comments included: ‘What I find the funniest is that some of the “everyday” housemates were at the same celeb status as some of these? #CBBUK’ and ‘It’s like normal big brother is full of young celebs and celeb big bro is full of celebs no one knows? #CBBUK’.
Another tweeted: ‘Probably recognise more people from the regular Big Brother this year than the “celebrity” version #CBBUK’.
With a huge twist already under way, we think this lot will keep us entertained.
Bring it on.
