Vicky Pattison has been through one big fitness journey.
But after being accused of editing one of her photos to look slimmer, she’s hit back at internet trolls in the best way, by putting the ‘edited’ shot next to a candid ‘unedited’ picture, wearing the exact same ab-baring outfit.
And she looks incredible in both, no?
The former Geordie Shore star started her Instagram essay by admitting, ‘I am slightly irritated with myself that I am having to do this but I’ve had a weekend full of abuse on Instagram and I’m not one to take things lying down… Especially when it’s online trolling/bullying, body shaming or women hating on other women.’
You go, girl.
The feisty reality star then went on to explain, ‘On the left here is an unedited, behind the scenes shot of me from my most recent @Honeyz shoot – on the right the final campaign shot.
She admits, ‘There are of course some small changes… Everything is tidied up, smoothed down or just made to the look it’s best for a national campaign… ‘
She continued, ‘…but the difference as you can blatantly see is MINOR!!!!’
We have to be honest, we can barely see any difference between the two pictures, can you?
Referencing some other snaps of her wearing the same skirt and crop top combo, she says, ‘To criticise me, judge me and body shame me over a couple of bad pictures that I happen to have taken in this outfit by incessant photographers who at times want nothing more than an unflattering photograph of someone is petty, childish and disrespectful.’
Hoping to spark some Girl Power, Vicky then writes, ‘What bothers me most is that it’s ignorant and hurtful and unfortunately seems to be mostly coming from other girls.’
‘And I say “girls” because girls compete and tear each other down… Yet women EMPOWER one another!!! Think carefully about which one you are as to quote @khloekardashian, this petty movement ain’t cute.’
Vicky is, of course, talking about Khloe Kardashian’s own online backlash, after she shared a photoshopped post-workout selfie with her Twitter followers not too long ago. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star had an equally sassy response for her own followers.
Vicky has a final thought for her critics, saying, ‘Please think before you type, everyone has feelings…’
It’s time to stop the hate and start spreading a little more love, guys.
Body-shaming just ain’t cool.
