Justin Bieber has been forced to deny he landed a whopping fine for arriving late to his O2 Arena gig in London on Monday.
According to Digital Spy, the star was asked to pay the fine to Greenwich Council after he caused the gig to overrun the 11pm closing time.
The Council allegedly charges £10,000 for every minute a show overruns, meaning that Justin’s 11.30pm finish incurred a £300,000 bill. Yikes!
Justin angered fans and their mums on Monday night when he arrived on stage almost two hours late, causing the gig to run late. He arrived on stage to a chorus of boos and some fans were forced to leave early to make their last trains home.
He defended his actions on Twitter, saying he was only 40 minutes late. He said: “Last night i was scheduled after 3 opening acts to go on stage at 9:35 not 8:30 but because of some technical issues i got on at 10:10 so i was 40 min late to stage. (sic)
“There is no excuse for that and I apologize for anyone we upset. However it was great show and Im proud of that.” (sic)
Last night, he arrived on stage two minutes early but went on Twitter once again to apologise to fans after facing even more backlash.
“Make up stories about fake fines and make no mention of the positive….i understand it is part of the job to be judged…but judge me on the facts, judge me on the music, and be careful of the judgement u pass.” (Sic)
