Union J left The X Factor last night in a tense semi-final showdown which saw James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas and Christopher Maloney make it to next week’s final.
The boyband were eliminated instantly without a judges’ vote as they received the least amount of votes from the public. They did however, perform for the crowd one last time, treating us to a rendition of Taylor Swift‘s Love Story. Cue lots of blubbing.
Josh Cuthbert told Dermot O’Leary: “I’m so happy with how well we’ve done. We’ve got so much to thank The X Factor for.”
Jaymi Hensley added: “This has been our dream to be on this show. Being here now, performing… I can’t describe how amazing it’s been.” Bless ’em.
The final acts performed with Rod Stewart, and both Pink and Tulisa sang on stage.
This means that James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas and Christopher Maloney have made it through to next week’s final in Manchester, where they’ll fight it out to be crowned winner.
Eek! We can’t WAIT. RM
