The Voice UK is returning to BBC One at 7.30pm on Saturday night (January 9th). And it’s already shaping up to be a drama-filled series.
The singing contest welcomes two new judges this year, as a result of Rita Ora‘s move over to ITV’s X Factor, and the highly controversial end to Tom Jones’ time in the swivel chair.
The Voice welcomes Boy George and Paloma Faith to the judging hot seats, and they will join veteran Will.i.am and the popular singer from Kaiser Chiefs, Ricky Wilson.

The talent competition has already hit the headlines this week, after reports emerged that the Black Eyed Peas star lost his cool during filming.
According to a report in The Sun, Will.i.am got really impatient with joke contestants that turned up to audition.
A source told the publication, ‘Will was clearly unimpressed with some of the acts who he felt weren’t serious. By the end of the session, he was really annoyed.’
They went on, ‘He kept saying to people in his entourage, “I don’t want this show to be a joke but these acts are only here for a joke”‘.
‘He takes the show very seriously, which is just one of the reasons he is such a good coach and mentor for the contestants.’
Novelty TV talent show acts aren’t anything new, but it seems that hopefuls may need to work that little bit harder to impress this judge.
Meanwhile, newcomers Boy George and Paloma Faith are already said to be clashing.
The Telegraph reports that the red-haired singer poked fun at him, pretending to doze off whilst he was talking, with him snapping back that she was ‘rude’ and ‘bitchy’.
This could be one explosive series.
