Miley Cyrus loves to party, and there’s no denying she’s got plenty of pals to do it with. But we couldn’t help but notice that they usually all have one thing in common – they’re male.
Whether she’s raving with Flo Rida, flirting with Pharrell or chilling with Will.i.am in the studio, Miley’s entourage is typically bloke-heavy. And besides her beloved pet pooches and mum Tish, Miley’s never really alluded to who her girl BFF might be.
And now we know the reason why.
In a new interview, the 21-year-old Wrecking Ball singer has opened up about why she’s never quite managed to lock down a good old fashioned girlmance.
‘I think it’s hard for friends that are in their 20s to be friends with other girls’, Miley told Hollywood Reporter. ‘There’s a lot of competition.’
But it sounds like Miley’s keen for that to change, as she reveals that her upcoming Bangerz tour will be a strictly girls-only affair, with Sky Ferreira and Icona Pop both lined up to open for the US starlet.
‘What I love about her is we’ve never felt that way,’ she said of 21-year-old singer Ferreira, before adding that she’s planning on surrounding herself with ‘as many women as possible’ at work in 2014.
We’re glad. Boys are great, but there’s nothing like a natter with your best gal pal to make you feel a million times better about life. Who’s with us?
