Kate Middleton and Prince William could be allowing us the first glimpse of their royal baby as early as this afternoon is reports are to be believed, with the royal couple said to be gearing up to unveil their little Prince of Cambridge on the steps of St Mary’s Hospital later today. Eeeeek!
In keeping with tradition, proud new parents Kate and Wills are expected to appear on the steps of the building with their newborn as they leave St Mary’s, just as Princess Diana did with sons William and Harry. In full view of the world’s media, the royal couple are then expected to pause for photographs before getting into a waiting car.
They will pose with the baby for pictures,” a royal insider reportedly told Us Weekly. “While it is a deeply personal and private event, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge realise this is a time of national celebration and that there will be vast interest in the baby. They realise many people will want to share in their happiness.”
Given that Kate’s 10-hour labour seemed to go smoothly, CNN‘s Max Foster reckons that there’s even more chance that this royal baby unveiling will be happening today. And considering the fact that we’ve just heard a rumour that Kate’s hairdresser has now entered the Lindo Wing, it sounds like the Duchess could be getting those tresses ready for her first royal family photo…
The Duke of Cambridge is also expected to address the well-wishers and media gathered outside the hospital before the unveiling of the little Prince, with the new family then rumoured to be heading off to Kate’s parents’ house in Berkshire for six weeks.
