Kate Middleton and Prince WIlliam have yet to reveal the name of their baby son, but the odds are firmly on ‘George’ pipping the other contenders to the post to win the royal baby name crown and become the Prince of Cambridge’s official new title.
The name of the royal baby, who was welcomed into the world at 4:24pm yesterday weighing in at 8lbs and 6oz, has been being hotly debated for months now. But over the last few hours, bookies have slashed odds on the pool of potential baby names for the nation’s future King and revealed that George is now the clear favourite at 7/4.
Coming in at a close second is James, which currently sits at 3/1, with Alexander following as third favourite at 6/1, report Coral. While they all sound pretty King-like to us, we can’t help but hope for a curveball like Jared or Hank to sneak its way in there… Just us?
Despite bets being placed left, right and centre, it could still be a while before anyone actually cashes in on the little Prince’s new title. According to royal sources, it could take several days for Kate and Wills to announce the name of their newborn son, with Will’s mum Princess Diana waiting a whole week before revealing her baby’s name.
