Prince William is said to have finally picked out a godfather for royal baby George, naming close friend Guy Pelly as one of the six lucky godparents in the running to pamper his little Prince.
The Duke of Cambridge has reportedly told smooth-talking Mahiki nighclub owner Guy, who he and Kate have been posh pals with for years, that he reckons he’s the perfect man for the job. “He is thrilled to bits about being picked and everyone was congratulating him”, a source told The Sun about Pelly’s reaction to the news.
“He’s been informally told by the Prince. Guy’s been a very discreet and good friend to William over the years. Those are qualities he wants to pass to George.”
Kate and Will are said to be sticking to royal tradition by giving baby George a whopping six doting godparents to fawn over him – think of all of those birthday pressies! While siblings Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton are the obvious first choices, Kate’s school pal Alicia Fox-Pitt, Will’s mate Thomas Van Straubenzee and friend James Meade are all also in the running.
The proud new parents will no doubt be getting set to leave their Angelsey home now that Will’s RAF duties are about to come to an end, and will then be focusing on their little one’s christening at Buckingham Palace set to take place next month.
With all godparents due to attend, we’ll be keeping our eyes firmly on that guestlist to see who else rocks up on Georgie’s special day!
