Wait… could ANOTHER two X Factor faces be leaving the show?
We’re already set for a huge shake-up this season, what with it recently being confirmed that judge Nick Grimshaw and hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs wouldn’t be returning.
Nick’s spokesperson explained in a statement: ‘After careful consideration, Nick has decided to rule himself out as a judge on this year’s X Factor.
‘He loved working on last year’s series alongside Rita [Ora], Cheryl [Fernandez-Versini] and Simon [Cowell] but it was very much a once in a lifetime experience.
‘He remains a massive fan of the show and is looking forward to watching it this year.’
Now it looks like The Xtra Factor could also be going through a hefty makeover, with rumours swirling that presenters Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom may be replaced. Whaa?!
This all started when Capital FM’s Roman Kemp (Martin Kemp’s son, don’tcha know) claimed that he’s been in talks for the spin-off programme.
Speaking to The Sun, the 23-year-old said: ‘Yeah. Obviously we have a lot of talks about it. We’ve had a lot of talks in the past year about Xtra Factor so we’ll see.
‘For me, that’s the next step. It’s nice to know these big shows I look up to are watching and thinking about putting me in that show.’
Roman currently hosts Capital’s 7-20pm weekday slot. As previously mentioned, his dad is ex-EastEnders and Spandau Ballet man Martin, while his mum is 80s singer Shirlie Holliman.
But if you’re a big fan of Roch and Melv together, there’s no need to fret just yet. It seems there’s a good chance they’re still in the frame.
According to the newspaper, a source confirmed that Roman had been in meetings. However, they also said: ‘Rochelle and Melvin did a great job last year.
‘No decisions have been taken on what’s going to happen this year.’
Hmmm. We’re sure Roman would be a fab host, but we also love Rochelle and Melvin. We’ll just have to wait and see…
