As if there would ever be beef between these two QUEENS
This year’s Grammy nominations were announced on Tuesday, and Rihanna fans weren’t happy.
The Bajan beauty failed to nab a nomination for both Song of the Year and Album of the Year, despite releasing a few bangers this year. And they took to social media in their droves to complain.
Things then got controversial when Rihanna herself liked a post that seemed to shade Beyonce a little by implying that Rihanna’s snub in those two particular categories was somehow Bey’s fault.
‘I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough* [lemon emoji],’ part of the caption read.
Beyonce fans then launched a tirade against Rihanna by posting tonnes of bee emojis under her Instagram pics by way of attack, with RiRi fans responding accordingly and backing her up by posting balloon emojis under Bey’s.
Oh, the shade.
However, Rihanna clearly feels things have gone too far, and has taken the chance to speak out about her rumoured ‘feud’ with Beyonce by denying she ever shaded her in the first place.
According to The Shade Room, the 28-year-old replied to the fan account that originally posted the caption and wrote: ‘I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along!’
‘Till I seen it pop up over and over! I’m petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary,’ she added. ‘I wish y’all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture! We don’t’ need to be putting black women against each other! We deserved to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!’
