We just can’t help being invested in those Love Island couples. Well, we do spend our entire summer watching their romances blossom, so you can’t really blame us.

Naturally, we keep a close eye on any relationship updates. But we’re sad when those updates happen to include a split – and today, we’ve got two to break to you.
Rachel Fenton and Rykard Jenkins were fan-favourites after meeting on the 2016 series of the ITV show. That moment where Ry’ announced he would be leaving the villa to follow his lady home has gone down in LI history.
But it seems as though the love hasn’t quite lasted in the ‘real’ world.
After much fan speculation, Rachel has taken to Twitter to confirm that they have split.
‘Rykard and I are no longer together,’ she wrote. ‘We have decided to go our separate ways but I wish him all the best with his future.’
Her followers had been speculating about what might be happening between the pair after she posted a cryptic tweet over the weekend.
It read: ‘Physically shaking with anger’.
It seems as though there’s something in the water, as this year’s winners have also decided to call time on their romance.
Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay have announced in a statement: ‘With sadness, we’ve decided to separate. We fell in love in the villa and want to thank all the fans of the show for supporting us.
‘Our schedules made it difficult. We’ll remain good friends.’
A source reportedly revealed to The Sun: ‘They’ve been at each other’s necks for the past month. They’ve been living on top of each other and clashed over the smallest things.
‘It’s also been very hard for them to see each other with their hectic schedules. They tried to make it work but realised they want different things and being together was too tough.’
BRB, we need a tissue.
