The singer has opened up about his battle with depression...
Peter Andre has opened up about a particularly difficult time in his life.
The 43-year-old lost his brother Andrew to cancer back in 2012, which left him struggling with depression.
He’s now admitted that this affected his relationship with partner Emily MacDonagh – and that he worried it could spell the end of their relationship.
He tells OK!: ‘When I hit rock bottom I thought Emily was going to leave me.
‘She told me how difficult it was to be in the house with me. I said to her at the time: “Go, you don’t have to deal with this with me.” But she said: “No way, I’m in this for the long haul.”
‘I guess you’ve got two options. Option one, you let me go. Go and do what you have to do. And if I ever get through this hell, and you feel like talking, we can talk. Option two, you stick with me through this.
‘She was so matter or fact about staying, so I knew straight away that I’d spend the rest of my life with her. If someone doesn’t argue with you when you’re at rock bottom and you’re shutting them out, you can get through anything.’
Happily, things have since gone from strength to strength for Peter and Emily, 27, who married in 2015.
They’re now proud parents to two-year-old daughter Amelia and are expecting their second child together later this year.
Of course, Pete is also dad to elder kids Junior, 11, and nine-year-old Princess with ex-wife Katie Price.
He and Emily have already been thinking about names for their new bubba, with Pete revealing: ‘I love traditional names like Rose, Elizabeth or Mary. For boys, strong names – James, Arthur, Oscar and Max.’
Aw. We can’t wait to find out what they go for.
