The 20-year-old One Direction star underwent a major leg operation last month in the States, and has reportedly been quietly recovering at the football team’s recovery unit ever since.
‘I saw him go into the specialist injury centre at 11.45am and leave again at 4pm’, an beady-eyed onlooker told the Sunday People. ‘He was on crutches and hobbling along.’
Niall, who’s reportedly been being treated by the footballers’ very own medics, is now said to have bagged a spot on the squad as a result of his boys’ bonding sessions.
An insider told The Sun: ‘Niall has been welcomed into the club as if he’s a Chelsea star himself. It’s the best possible place for him to get the rehab he needs on his knee because he needs to be fighting fit for the band’s stadium tour later this year.’
Apparently, Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho has agreed to the arrangement because his daughter is such a huge fan of the Story of My Life singers.
The Irish charmer has previously spoken aboout his love for the team, especially after the One Direction boys were invited to train with his previous club Real Madrid.
‘Mourinho’s daughter is a fan and he wanted to get tickets to the show so he invited us to train with the lads’, Niall said at the time.
First Louis signs with Doncaster, and now Niall and Chelsea – While we do enjoy the thought of the 1D lads running around in short shorts, we hope we don’t end up losing the entire clan to the beautiful game!
