It has not been a good week for Olly Murs, who is allegedly heartbroken after ending it with his
girlfriend, Francesca Thomas. Having met at V Festival in 2012, the couple rarely make public appearances and have successfully kept their three year romance out of the spotlight.
Speaking earlier in the year about the difficulties of dating while in the public eye Olly commented, “I don’t want Francesca to be harassed at work because of me and my job. It’s nothing to do with her – our relationship is private, it shouldn’t be out there in the press, but it comes with the job.” Highlighting the pressures of balancing work and a relationship he explained, “If she wanted to walk away because she couldn’t handle the stress, then I would understand. I have to figure out how I can combine my work and relationship.”
However, despite best intentions, it appears the pressure of life in the limelight has got too much for the couple. A source reported that Olly’s hectic work commitments – filming X Factor and pursuing his own music career – are to blame for the breakup. The source claims Olly is devastated and that
was “the first woman he planned a future with.”
Last seen together watching a spot of tennis at Wimbledon back in June, Olly confessed in an interview a few weeks ago that Francesca was a not a fan of the new body he had been working hard at. Olly told Fabulous magazine, “She’s not a big fan… she misses the comfort belly, something to snuggle up to!”.
Not one to sit at home and wallow after the shock split, Olly hit the town last Tuesday night. Calling on his One Direction pals Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, the trio we’re seen downing the famous treasure chest cocktail at celeb spot Mahiki.
