Rita Ora and Olly Murs had a pretty awkward exchange during Sunday night’s X Factor results show.
The X Factor mentor was overcome with emotion as she gushed about her winning act, Louisa Johnson, in the moment that she stole this year’s winning crown.
But viewers were quick to notice that the Hot Right Now singer said something that could have been quite hurtful for Olly, who was on stage alongside them.
Embracing her last remaining act, Rita announced: ‘I’m so proud of her.
‘I’ve watched this show and I’ve been such a fan of this show.
‘But there’s only two people in my opinion that have made this impression, and that’s Leona and Louisa… and that’s honest!’
Chart-topper Leona Lewis has gone on to sell 20 million records worlwide and is known as one of the most successful winners to come out of the ITV talent show.
However, Olly Murs has also enjoyed chart success, and – of course – is now a successful TV presenter.
So that comment has got to have hurt a little.
Fans were quick to react on Twitter, with one writing, ‘LOL is Rita Ora ruuuude? Olly Murs is standing right there.’
Another jumped in: ‘@RitaOra seriously should apologies for disrespecting Olly Murs.’
Ever the professional, Olly kept his cool during the live show, simply saying ‘aww’ to Rita’s words for Louisa.
We’re sure that Rita didn’t mean to upset Olly, she probably just got carried away with excitement at Louisa’s big win.
Don’t worry, Olly.
We all love you.
