Olly Murs is rumoured to be returning to the show that got us totally smitten with him in the first place, but not as a wannabe popstar or cheeky ITV2 co-host – as a brand new X Factor judge!
Reportedly replacing current eye candy Gary Barlow, the 29-year-old is set to take one of the hotseats as part of a brand-spanking new line-up in 2014.
“We’d love to get Olly back as a young judge to freshen things up. He can relate to the other singers like no one else,” spilled a show insider to the Daily Mirror.
“Crucially, boss Simon Cowell is on good terms with Olly so if he can fit auditions around his career we think he would be perfect. Olly is a front runner.”
We can totally see the fun-loving Essex boy turning up the charm for next year’s talent competition as his X Factor CV is already brimming with top class performances.
He’s not only had the perfect presenting practice with TV wifey Caroline Flack on ITV2’s spin-off show, but the Troublemaker singer also helped Gary as a guest mentor during the Judges Houses round.
Questioned only a couple of weeks about his involvement with show, he hinted: “I’m always around so, yes, maybe one day I will be a judge.”
And now it’s been revealed that all four mentors are leaving the show, what better time to snap up the spot.
It looks like fairy godfather Mr Cowell was listening, Olls!
