The X Factor judge supports LM ahead of their performance on The X Factor this weekend...
Nicole Scherzinger has stuck up for Little Mix amid that outfit drama.
After Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock appeared on The X Factor back in October, they were labelled ‘prostitutes’ and a ‘bad influence’. Awful.
These comments came a day after Mel C slammed their look, telling the Sunday People that she’s banned her seven-year-old daughter Scarlet from social media.
She said: ‘She is a massive Little Mix fan but I’ve started to be more sparing in what I show her. I don’t let her watch videos by artists that aren’t appropriate for her. That makes me a bit sad.’
The ladies have previously hit back at the criticism, with 23-year-old Jade arguing: ‘It’s a bit double standards, you always see lads with their tops off and everyone congratulates them and woos them, and we get a bit of thigh out and it’s a bit of an issue!
‘We were really comfortable in our outfits and we loved what we wore, so that’s all that matters.’
Now Nicole, 38, has backed them up.
At a press conference ahead of The X Factor final tomorrow night, the judge said of their performance: ‘I felt the good thing about Little Mix is they are empowering girls. They don’t seem skanky or raunchy.
‘They have an empowering message and the song [Shout Out To My Ex] is empowering, so that’s going to make them confident.
‘I’m sure they changed it up as the [Pussycat] Dolls changed it up. Ultimately it comes from within and I can’t really pass judgement.’
LM are due to return to The X Factor stage this weekend, so let’s hope people cut them a bit of slack this time, eh?
