The Radio 1 DJ flipped his vehicle last night...
We’re sending all our love to Nick Grimshaw right now.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ, 32, was involved in a car accident last night, after ‘swerving to avoid a cat’ on his street. Eek.
He was due to appear on air with Annie Mac and MistaJam for their #FrankOceanListeningParty, but had to pull out when he toppled his vehicle.
Annie later explained his absence from the show as being due to him having ‘a bit of an accident’.
A Twitter user named @JimHiggsy shared photos of the scene, which appear to show Nick’s £80,000 Mercedes lying on its side in the middle of the road.
Reassuring followers that everything was okay, the Tweeter wrote: ‘Driver swerved to avoid a cat… Everyone safe and well.’
An onlooker told Metro: ‘[Nick] was fine and the cat was fine.
‘He was a lovely man, he said he would have felt terrible if the cat had been hurt. Both airbags had gone off so that’s why he wasn’t hurt, and he was still there an hour later.’
Nick’s representative has also spoken out about the incident, confirming to The Sun: ‘Nick is absolutely fine – he was driving at no more than 15 mph and he swerved to avoid a cat.
‘No one was hurt and Nick will be doing his breakfast show as normal tomorrow morning.’
In true Grimmy form, the ex-X Factor judge has been joking about the incident on his Twitter page.
He wrote at the time: ‘Had an accident in the car but all ok – shout out to all my lovely neighbours for helping out ✌? see u in the morning….I’ll er get a cab.’
Glad to hear you (and the moggy) are doing well, Nick! And we hope repairing that car isn’t too pricey…
