Niall Horan looked very dapper at Royal Ascot on Wednesday.
The One Direction singer, 22, arrived at the horse racing event in Berkshire in a smart blue suit, which he’d paired with a polka-dot maroon tie and matching pocket square.
Niall – who’s currently enjoying 1D’s hiatus – was attending the event with his family. So it should have been a fairly chilled day out for him, right?
But unfortunately for the blond star, things ended up turning a little sour when he was asked for an interview from BBC Berkshire presenter Tim Dellor. Eep.
Niall refused to speak to Tim (which he’s well within his rights to do), reportedly telling him: ‘Not today.’
This led Tim to speak out on the radio, saying: ‘I didn’t actually know who he was anyway, to be honest. I had to ask my producer.
‘He looked like he was taking himself quite seriously; a lot of bodyguards around. I didn’t have any clue who he was, but the snappers obviously did. He’s not dressed properly, either. He’s only in a normal lounge suit.
‘He had sunglasses on and was trying to stand up and straight as he possibly could to give himself an extra bit of height. It was the most unimpressive performance by a celebrity who I didn’t know who it was.’
Um. A little rude, no?!
Understandably, Niall was pretty furious after hearing this. He replied on Twitter: ‘What are you on about mate? I was having a day out with my family who also enjoy horse racing big time.
‘I’m not there to stand infront of cameras and do s*** interviews for you [sic].’
Oosh. On his account, Tim later wrote: ‘Me and Niall from One Direction – a slightly awkward experience. I didn’t know him and I don’t think he had any interest in knowing me.’
We think you’re right there, mate.
