Miley Cyrus is no stranger to headlines, but her most recent escapades aren’t anything to do with high knicker-lines, twerking or nipple-flashing. The singer has finally opened up about her split from Liam Hemsworth, and it makes for some pretty interesting reading.
Just when we thought Miley might take a break from the spotlight to, you know, hang out with her fam, eat Quality Street and open presents, she’s opened up in a candid, televised interview with Barbara Walters to talk love, her broken engagement and whether she’ll ever get married after all.
She says: ‘I don’t think I realized what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19, and I definitely wouldn’t change being engaged. It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years, but now, I just feel like I can actually be happy. I wait for those moments of silence, when I’m just at my house, by myself.’
Oh right. Miley, now 21, dated Liam for four years and the pair split earlier this year just before Miley began promoting her new album and stripping to her underwear.
She adds: ‘I was so scared of ever being alone, and I think, conquering that fear, this year, was actually bigger than any other transition that I had, this entire year.
The interview airs tomorrow in the US, and we doubt they’re the most shocking comments to come from the young star.
Over to you, Liam…
