Miley Cyrus has done the unthinkable – she’s only gone and banned twerking from her next tour.
The 21-year-old has reportedly gone all sensible on us and decided it’s time to ditch her signature move for her forthcoming Bangerz tour to allow people to focus on her other talents, aka. her singing.
‘Miley is well aware of the controversy her twerking caused last year and while she is not at all regretful of it, she doesn’t want it to define her concerts,’ a source told The Mirror.
‘She has written the show herself, it’s like a play and it has a theme but more than anything Miley wants the world to see that she can actually sing.’
‘Since June, when the twerking became infamous, Miley doesn’t feel that she has always been portrayed as a serious artist but someone who just bends over and behaves in a raunchy manner’, the insider added.
The 59-date tour kicks off in Vancouver next week. But while we may be seeing Cyrus toning down her raunchy on-stage ways, there’s one thing that won’t be changing – those costumes of hers (designed by Mr Roberto Cavalli himself) will still be off-the-scale sexy.
‘She thinks her raw talent has been overshadowed by this and wants to put it right’, the source continued. ‘She will though, of course, be wearing raunchy-style outfits but that is as far as it will be going.’
While we admire her efforts for a twerking detox, we’re not 100% convinced. We give it 24 hours…
