The TOWIE star has been suffering from sleep paralysis
Megan McKenna has opened up about a terrifying health issue.
The TOWIE star, 24, spoke out about sleep paralysis in the early hours of yesterday morning, telling fans it was ‘the scariest thing she’d ever experienced’.
She Tweeted: ‘Not even joking you. Sleep paralysis is the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced.’
Fans were quick to sympathise, with responses including: ‘Horrible isnt it 😣😣😣 I’ve had it a few times where you try to scream but no sound and you can’t move 😥,’ and: ‘I’ve had it the last two nights after not having it for a long time. It’s so scared like being trapped x [sic].’
According to the NHS, sleep paralysis is a temporary inability to move or speak that occurs when you’re waking up or falling asleep.
It’s not harmful and should pass in a few seconds or minutes, but as Megan knows, it can be very frightening.
Megan’s clearly been struggling with her sleep quite a bit over the past few days.
Earlier in the evening, she’d bemoaned on her page: ‘Why was I falling asleep on the sofa and now I’m in bed I’m wide awake 😩😩😩 the struggles.’
And last night, she wrote: ‘I am beyond tired it’s a joke. I just want a good night sleep 😩😩😩.’
She has received some advice from followers. One suggested: ‘Himalayan bath salts in a bath before bed will do the trick,’ while another offered: ‘Meditation will help, try going to sleep whilst listening to an app, it’s stopped mine @ helped with stress.’
Fingers crossed you sleep better tonight, lady.
