McDonald’s breakfasts have become something of a national treasure.
Home to the Sausage and Egg McMuffin, we’ve all got fond memories of this breakfast gaff, no?
Whether making a hungover pitstop on the way into the office or setting the alarm on a Sunday for an extra special treat, it’s a special sort of nostalgia that only Maccy D lovers can relate to.
But McDonald’s have gone and thrown a HUGE curveball into the mix. And no, it’s not that we can order breakfast foods past 10.30am (although wouldn’t that be something?)
The fast food moguls have gone and ditched one of their most iconic mash-ups from their morning menu, at least if customer’s reports are anything to go by.
And people aren’t happy.
Yup, they’ve taken the Big Breakfast OFF the table. It’s gone. RIP. Finito.
Naturally, it didn’t take long for social media to react. One tweeted, ‘So upset that @McDonalds have stopped doing the big breakfast meal! #NotAngryJustDisapointed’.
Another is taking it pretty hard, ‘WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY??? McDonalds don’t do Big Breakfast any more??? I didn’t vote for this B******.’
Whilst others are taking a more hands-on approach, ‘Gutted, #McDonalds have stopped doing the big breakfast meal. Might have to write to my MP.’
McDonald’s told the Huffington Post, ‘Whilst we are sad to see the Big Breakfast go, we are continually developing our menu and this is particularly true of our breakfast items.’
What are we ever going to do without our circle of scrambelled egg and our opened buttered muffins?
Hangovers will NEVER be the same again…
