McBusted are set to crash internet servers across the land tomorrow as tickets for McFly and Busted’s joint tour go on sale. And with presale tickets selling out in minutes yesterday, the race is on to bag a spot at the 11-date arena tour.
It’s fair to say the six lads have a lot to be excited about, which appears to be the situation for Charlie Simpson too.
Although the former Busted frontman has made his feelings about the reunion quite clear (that is, he’s not feeling it), Charlie is still set to cash in on the tour.
Apparently the Busted boys negotiated a six-figure sum to buy the bushy-browed singer’s share of copyrights to the band name.
Which was all going swimmingly, until he realised there were a few other royalties owed to him. The trio are said to have called an emergency meeting just three weeks ago to straighten things out. Phew.
A source told The Mirror: ‘Charlie wishes the boys lots of luck but he wanted absolutely no involvement.
Adding: ‘He is getting on with his solo career, he isn’t really even working with Fightstar – the band he created after leaving Busted – but didn’t feel it was fair not to be bought out of the Busted brand.
‘All three sat down amicably and worked out a figure that everyone was happy with. Charlie made it clear in no uncertain terms that that’s it for him and the boys now, it’s finished.’
Sob. It may be over for Charlie, but it’s SO ON for McBusted.
General tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow (15 November). Will you be trying your luck?
