Mason Noise Sparks Controversy Over The X Factor Final

True to his name, Mason Noise’s time on the X Factor was anything but quiet.

The controversial contestant wasted no time in making a name for himself, after dramatically dropping his microphone and walking out of his six chair challenge audition. It was mentor Nick Grimshaw that called him back, giving him a spot in his category.

If you tuned in to watch the X Factor final this weekend, you may have noticed that someone was missing. All of the live show finalists took to the Wembley Arena stage to perform Macklemore’s hit Downtown, with the exception of Mason.

With no official explanation as to why he wasn’t included in the line-up, the 22-year-old shared a cryptic announcement on his Twitter feed, saying: ‘I stand for what I believe in #AWE’.

Fans of the show were quick to question him, with many also asking if he would be joining the X Factor tour.

Making more waves across social media, the former X Factor contestant took to Instagram to share a snap from his time on the show.

Posing alongside One Direction’s Liam Payne, Mason captioned his photo, ‘One of the highlights of my experience, meeting one of Harry Styles backing singers @onedirection #XfactorFinal #onedirection’.

Naturally, this has garnered A LOT of attention, wracking up over 5,000 comments to date.

1D fans were quick to jump to Liam’s defense, branding it ‘insulting’, whilst others were convinced that Mason was just ‘joking’.

The One Direction boys took to the X Factor stage during Sunday night’s live show, making an emotional return to the place where it all began. Simon Cowell put on a special farewell segment for the boys, and the hashtag #ThisIsNotTheEndOfOneDirection was soon trending on Twitter.

As for Mason, he recently revealed to the Birmingham Mail: ‘I’m excited about the tour, it’s a step towards having my own arena show.’

He also revealed that he would love to headline in his hometown, explaining, ‘I would really love it if I could go last at the Genting. I know it will be the winner, but I think my home town people would appreciate if I put on a special show for them.’

We guess we’ll have to watch this space…
