Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright are one of our favourite showbiz couples, so we’re not quite sure why their marriage has come under scrutiny over the past few days.
As you probably know, Michelle is currently away from her hubby, having jetted to South Africa earlier this month to shoot the second series of Our Girl.
The 28-year-old has replaced EastEnders‘ Lacey Turner in the BBC Army drama, taking on the tough role of a Corporal named Georgie Lane.
While there’s no doubt that their separation is difficult for the pair, Michelle has her husband’s full support.
Mark, 29, previously told the Daily Mirror: ‘I’m so proud of Michelle – this is a great opportunity and I would never stand in her way.
‘I’m going to miss her – we’ve never been apart for so long so it will be difficult. But it’ll be fine, I’m going to try and get out there when I can.’
It sounds like Mark will be heading to the set sooner rather than later, captioning an Instagram photo last week: ‘Off away working for short while, then the wait is over as I’ll be off to see my partner in crime and love of my life… It’s been too long !! [sic].’
Aw. In the meantime, Michelle has been busy prepping for her new role. But unfortunately for the ex-Coronation Street, not everything about this has been as simple as hoped.
She shared a snap of herself with a group of male co-stars last week, excitedly telling fans: ‘Me and some of the boys at our cast read through for Our Girl 2! X.’
It sounds like some of her followers took a liking to actor Ben Aldridge, who could be seen grinning in a white shirt as Michelle casually rested her hand on his shoulder.
Comments included: ‘He is amazing,’ and: ‘Well she can get her hand off Ben for a start.’ Crikey.
This was actually where the trouble began. It was initially reported that Mark was ‘upset’ with these gushing messages.
However, he’s since denied this, with a representative stating: ‘It’s a fabricated and made up story.’
Phew. We never doubted you, Mark! And we hope you have a lovely time with Michelle.
