Lucy Watson Pens An Angry Tweet About Ollie Locke Killing A Crocodile

'I think there are better ways of raising money for charity than killing a caiman for entertainment'

Lucy Watson is not impressed with her ex-Made in Chelsea co-star Ollie Locke’s antics on Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls.

On Sunday night’s finale, we saw the 28-year-old kill a crocodile as he and his fellow Islanders grew increasingly hungry.

To do this, he jumped on the caiman’s back and put a knife through its neck.

Ollie was visibly traumatised afterwards. He was heard whispering: ‘I’m so sorry darling,’ before telling viewers: ‘I think that’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my entire life.’

He’s since opened up about the incident, explaining on Lorraine last month: ‘By this time we hadn’t eaten in a long time and it was something that we had to do. It was last resort stuff.’

A Channel 4 spokesperson has also said: ‘The premise of the series, in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, is to see if when stripped of all the conveniences of modern life, celebrities have what it takes to survive and feeding themselves is a fundamental part of this.

‘Those on the island all received training on how to kill animals humanely and this was utilised properly in each instance.’

But that didn’t stop vegan Lucy, 25, from Tweeting after the programme: ‘I think there are better ways of raising money for charity than killing a caiman for entertainment. Especially when you can afford food. ?.’

She later wrote: ‘It’s not a personal attack on him, he knows my thoughts. Just the process in general.’

Her followers had mixed responses, with one agreeing: ‘I was disgusted when I heard of this. For tv entertainment ?? A life taken. Sad sad times ??,’ while another hit out: ‘Do you not understand how much courage that took for olly to do, he didn’t kill it out of choice, it was so they didn’t starve [sic].’
