Lucy-Jo Hudson has opened up about her split from Alan Halsall.
The pair confirmed their unexpected news last month, releasing the statement: ‘Lucy-Jo Hudson and Alan Halsall are sad to announce that they have separated.
‘They’ve shared many wonderful years together and will remain close friends.
‘They ask for privacy at this emotional time, to allow them both to focus on their beautiful daughter Sienna-Rae, to ensure her continued happiness.’
Lucy-Jo, 32, spoke about how she’s dealing with the break-up on Loose Women yesterday, saying: ‘It’s difficult. I’m up and down.’
But she insisted that she and Alan, 33, remain ‘best mates’, continuing: ‘We’ll remain friends and I genuinely mean that, we still care for each other.
‘We’re so amicable and we get on, we speak every day. We’re still best mates. We just wanna make sure [Sienna-Rae] remains happy.’
Lucy-Jo also addressed those reports that her Doctors co-star Andy Moss has been ‘comforting her on set’.
Calling the romance rumours ‘absolute nonsense’, she said: ‘The only time I cried on his shoulder was when we were filming. It’s part of what we have to do.

‘He’s a brilliant actor and we work together and that’s it.’
Alan – who plays Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap – met Lucy in 2002, when she joined as Katy Harris.
They began dating in 2005 and quickly became one of the cobbles’ favourite couples, getting married in a romantic Cheshire ceremony four years later.
They welcomed Sienna-Rae in 2013.
