Love Island’s Zara Has Been Stripped Of Her Miss GB Title

Zara Holland has been officially stripped of her Miss Great Britain title. Eep.

The organisation announced last night that the Love Island lady, 20, had been ‘de-crowned’ after getting very saucy with co-star Alex Bowen.

They wrote on their Twitter page: ‘The feedback we have received from pageant insiders and members of the general public is such that we cannot promote Zara as a positive role model moving forward.

‘We wholly understand that everyone makes mistakes, but Zara, as an ambassador for Miss Great Britain, simply did not uphold the responsibility expected of the title.’

They then revealed Zara’s replacement, continuing: ‘Moving forward, as tradition dictates we will be crowning our 1st runner up Deone Robertson as Miss Great Britain for the remainder of this year’s reign.

Zara Holland has caused a stir on this year’s Love Island

‘Deone was a fantastic regional title holder as Miss North Lanarkshire and performed incredibly well during the National Final, so we are confident she will do a fantastic job during her short reign.

‘We will meet with Zara upon her return to the UK to fully explain our decision and will wish her the very best going forward.’

So what exactly happened to lead Miss GB to come to this decision?

Zara Holland hooked up with Alex Bowen

Well, on Wednesday night’s show, two news boys entered the villa – Alex and James Khan.

Zara and fellow singleton Olivia both took a fancy to scaffolder Alex, but it was Zara who the public voted for to take one of the newbies for a hot date in the hideaway.

TBH, Zara was simply letting her hair down, and should be free to do what she wants without judgement.

And plenty of others agreed with us. One commented on Twitter: ‘it’s just embarrassing that in 2015 there is an organization saying a woman having sex is not a role model tbh.’

Another wrote: ‘Ridiculous. Slut shaming. Shameful of you when you tell women to be confident and proud of themselves.’

However, Miss GB have since clarified: ‘To be clear we have no problem at all with sex-it is perfectly natural. We simply can’t condone what happened on national TV.’
