'I didn’t really gel with it that much - everyone knows it wasn’t the best song'
Louisa Johnson has admitted that she wasn’t a huge fan of her X Factor winner’s single.
The 18-year-old singer made her chart debut with a cover of Bob Dylan’s Forever Young last December – but it peaked at #9 and sold just 39,000 copies in its first week.
Almost a year on, she’s told The Sun: ‘I didn’t really gel with it that much – everyone knows it wasn’t the best song.
‘I didn’t really like it, but it was just one of those things. It got to a higher spot than I thought it was going to get.’
Despite this initial disappointment, Louisa’s kept her head held high. She’s had a busy year, and is now preparing to release her own material.
Her new single So Good is out on Friday, which she’ll be performing on this weekend’s X Factor results show.
Of course, fans are very excited about it, with Tweets including: ‘@louisa WE CAN’T WAIT!!! ??,’ and: ‘@louisa omg i’m so excited ??.’
And it sounds as though we may be in for a few surprises, with Louisa continuing: ‘There’s definitely a few raunchier songs on the album, but there is stuff for everyone, which I think is really important.
‘None of it’s fake, it’s all very much real. It’s all how I feel, how I act and what I do, but I didn’t get to show that side on The X Factor because it’s a competition and I wanted to get through each week.’
Ooh. We’re excited to see what you have to offer, lady!
