Louisa Johnson has rubbished rumours that she’s too ill to perform on The X Factor this weekend.
The 17-year-old is set to take part in a nail-biting final tomorrow night, going up against Che Chesterman and Reggie N Bollie.
But despite being the favourite to win, fans have been worried that her chances are at threat from a mystery bug.
She was forced to cancel a show in Liverpool earlier this week, at the order of doctors who put her on strict vocal rest.
Understandably, this sparked concern that issues with her vocal chords could jeopardise her performance – or force her out of the competition altogether.
However, Louisa has now hit back at these suggestions.
She tells Yahoo! Celebrity: ‘I don’t know where this “I’m not going to make it to the finals” has come from, because I’m not going to not make it.
‘I’m so ready to perform and, yeah, I’ve got a sore throat but it’ll be gone by the weekend.’ Phew.
She may be confident, but that doesn’t mean Louisa is taking the contest lightly.
The pretty teen continues: ‘I’m really grateful that people think [I’ll win] but I don’t really like to focus on it because I just need to focus on my performances.
‘Thinking I’m the favourite isn’t going to make me win it.’
Louisa’s mentor Rita Ora is also getting herself in gear for tomorrow’s show. And she’s definitely excited about the prospect of walking away victorious.
She says: ‘That would be so f***ing awesome! I don’t think I’ll ever shut up for a year. I’ll be like: “See, Simon? You picked the right girl!”
‘Regardless, I think we’ve found a star anyway.
‘You can’t predict the future and it would be amazing if she was the winner but I don’t think this is the last you’ll see of Louisa Johnson.’
We have to agree, Rita.
