Louisa Johnson previously sparked concern amongst her growing fan base after revealing she wasn’t feeling well ahead of the semi-finals, but it seems that now the X Factor favourite could be carrying it through to this weekend’s final show.
The 17-year-old was forced to cancel a show in Liverpool this week, at the order of her doctors who have put her on strict vocal rest.
This has, understandably, sparked concern that the issues with her vocal chords may jeopardise her chances at winning this year’s ITV talent competition.
A spokesperson for the X Factor released the following statement to the Mail Online: ‘Unfortunately Louisa is unwell and we have been advised by doctors that she currently needs to be on bed and voice rest ahead of this weekend’s final.
‘We’re sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to supporting her at her performance in Liverpool today.’
Louisa herself took to Twitter to share her disappointment with fans, saying: ‘so sorry that im missing tonight in liverpool! Need to be on strict voice rest ahead of the biggest week of my life,it needs to be perfect’.
The blonde singer is the last remaning girl in the competition, and will be going head-to-head with Che Chesterman and Reggie ‘N’ Bollie for the winning spot of this year’s X Factor. It makes sense that she’d want to save her voice for the big night.
It seems that the final week of the competition is a pretty emotional one for the remaining contestants, as Louisa opened up about leaving the X Factor house where they have been staying. She tweeted to her 145K fans, ‘Packing up my room at the x factor house today, emosh times’.
Rita Ora‘s last remaining act has been the favourite to win ever since her early audition, but she previously revealed to The Sun that this hasn’t phased her: ‘It doesn’t put more pressure on me as I am not thinking about it. I am really grateful people think I am going to win’.
We hope Louisa gets the rest she needs, and will rock her performance this weekend.
