Tinie Tempah has been absent from our lives for far too long, but after a whole year of musical silence the smokin’ hot singer is back with his brand new single, Trampoline, featuring US rapper 2 Chainz. And we’re happy to say it’s an absolute belter…
Featuring a deliciously dirty bassline and typically Tinie-style lyrical cheek such as “She ask me if I’m single/ I said ‘maybe, I think so/ I can’t concentrate when that thong’s on like Sisqo”, the Diplo-produced track will be the first release off the 24-year-old’s much-awaited new album, ‘Demonstration’. Fifth listen in and we’re ready to wind and grind like RiRi on heat.
Tinie took over a year off to write and record his second album following the success of his debut release, ‘Disc-Overy’. Speaking to Radio 1Xtra’s MistaJam, who premiered new single Trampoline this week, Mr. Tempah revealed the influences behind his brand new club banger.
“Travelling, and studying the music I made and its effect on people, I was able to enjoy the music I made best when I was performing it to large crowds”, Tinie said. “When I’m supporting people – Black Eyed Peas and Rihanna and people – I’ve got 15-20 minutes to wow these people, win the crowd, and one thing I noticed that was consistent with my music was the energy of it. I’m always able to get people jumping, so I tied that in with a joke that people made about me jumping really high. That’s why it’s called ‘Trampoline.’”
