We all love awards season, right? But there are two people who’ve made this year’s a little more special than usual.
Who’s that? Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, of course! And they didn’t disappoint at the Oscars last night.
With both being nominated for a string of prestigious awards over the past few months (Leo for his role in The Revenant and Kate for Steve Jobs), they’ve had plenty of opportunities to give us BFF goals on the red carpet.
First there was the Golden Globes, where Kate, 40, was one of the first people to congratulate her Titanic co-star after he won the Best Actor In A Drama award.
Leo, 41, had just picked up his gong when Kate grabbed him for a hug. And we felt ALL the feels.
Then, when Kate was announced as the recipient of the Best Supporting Actress at last week’s BAFTAs, she grabbed her pal’s hand en route to the stage. Aw.
So what happened at the Oscars? Firstly, they left their dates to reunite on the red carpet. AMAZING.
Leo had arrived with his mum while Kate was with her husband Ned Rocknroll.
We saw them laughing and gazing into each other’s eyes as they posed in front of the cameras. That Titanic chemistry will just never go away, eh?
Then came the moment that we’d all been waiting for – the Best Actor category.
After six nominations and over 20 years of acting, Leo was FINALLY announced as the recipient of an Oscar. And the world was seriously emosh.
Unsurprisingly, so was Kate. She was spotted clutching her hands to her face, and even looked as though she may shed a tear.
This is despite the fact that she’d lost out on the Best Supporting Actress gong to The Danish Girl‘s Alicia Vikander. What a good sport.
Ah. Jack and Rose may never have got their happy ending, but Kate and Leo certainly have.
