Bad news for Leona Lewis today, as it’s announced she’s been droped from her record label.
The talented songstress won The X Factor back in 2009, and released her fifth album, I Am, last year.
But after just one album release on Island Records, which is part of the Universal Music Group, Leona has been dropped.
According to sources, the relationship ‘has not worked out’, which means Leona will record her next album elsewhere. Eep.
The 31-year-old used to be Simon Cowell’s label, Syco, but split from that label back in 2014, due to reported ‘friction’ between her and Simon. The pair are now said to be on good terms, however.
It’s not the best news for Lewis, but at least she’s not short of distractions right now – the singer has just replaced Nicole Scherzinger in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, which will definitely keep her busy.
We wish Leona all the best, and hope for a banging new power ballad soon!
