Lea Michele returned to work last week for the first time since her boyfriend Cory Monteith‘s death, and has now shared the first photo from the Glee Season 5 set, telling fans it feels “so good to be home”.
The 26-year-old actress tweeted from her first day of filming on set, posting a grainy photo of her character Rachel Berry sitting at the end of a bed looking forlorn. “Feels so good to be home…

Lea had us all a little bit in awe of her amazing strength and optimism since the tragic death of her co-star boyfriend last month. Not only did she manage to smile her way through friend Jamie Lynn Siegler‘s baby shower celebrations over the weekend, but she’s already thrown herself back into work less than a month after losing Cory.
The musical TV star has also been back in the studio to record her first song for Glee‘s Cory Monteith tribute episode, due to air this autumn. “Thank you Alex Anders an Adam Anders for a great recording session today… You guys are the best,” Lea tweeted after leaving the studio. “Couldn’t have picked a more beautiful & perfect song to start the year with.”
The music producers working with the actress both replied to share their admiration for the star. “@msleamichele You were absolutely magnificent today. I am in awe of your strength and your sweet spirit. Love you. #leastrong”, wrote one.
Lea’s brave return to set and studio comes after the Glee team released a moving behind-the-scenes video tribute to Cory, which has now had over a million views.
It’s not yet known what song the singer recorded as a tribute to her late boyfriend, but we have a feeling it’s going to be a tearjerker.
