26-year-old Lea joined Cory’s family for the small service, which was reportedly organised by Cory’s mother Ann McGregor, following the Canadian star’s tragic death on Saturday.
The actress was left devastated when her on/off-screen boyfriend was found dead in his hotel room following an accidental alcohol and heroin overdose, and has since thanked fans for their “love and support” while she grieves with Monteith’s family.
Lea and Cory first found love on the set of Glee, and after nearly two years together, were reportedly set to wed. Lea’s grandfather Albert Sarfati told Star magazine earlier this week: “They were about to be married. I’m sure Lea is brokenhearted.”
Although he wasn’t invited to the cremation service, Cory’s estranged dad Joe has also spoken out about the family’s terrible loss. “I always loved both my sons and am going to miss Cory very very much”, he told TMZ. “I’m saddened at the fact that I couldn’t have been there to see my son before he was cremated.”
