Lea Michele Makes First Public Outing Since Cory Monteith’s Death

Lea Michele has stepped out for the first time since the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith, with the Glee actress spotted wearing her ‘Cory’ necklace while riding in a friend’s car in LA.

The 26-year-old made her first public appearance on Sunday when she jumped in a car with a female friend to drive to Beverly Hills. In the photos, Lea can be seen chatting with her companion in the vehicle, dressed in a black v-neck jumper and a pair of grey sweatpants with her hair pulled back in a topknot and her eyes shielded behind a pair of sunglasses.

Lea’s silver ‘Cory’ name necklace was also visible hanging from the actress’s neck, which she often wore as a tribute to her on and off screen boyfriend.

Lea’s outing comes just days after the actress took to Twitter to send a message of thanks to her fans. “Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support,” she wrote, adding: “Cory will forever be in my heart.”

31-year-old Cory was found dead in his hotel room following an overdose of heroin and alcohol earlier this month. Girlfriend Lea is said to be struggling to come to terms with her loss and was reportedly left shellshocked at a memorial held for the late actor last week at Paramount studios in LA.

”Everyone made time for Lea and talked to her and cried with her – she was shellshocked, but was very happy to be surrounded by her peers. It was exactly what she needed,” an insider told HollywoodLife.

Our hearts go out to Lea at this incredibly sad time.
