Er. So it looks like things are getting a little odd between Laurence Fox and Billie Piper.
The pair announced their split back in March, going their separate ways after nine years of marriage.
In a statement posted on Laurence’s official Facebook page, they wrote: ‘Laurence Fox and Billie Piper have separated. No third parties are involved.
‘For the sake of our family we request and appeal for space and privacy at this time.’
Billie, 33, has kept fairly schtum since the news emerged, but 38-year-old Laurence appeared to come up with a pretty wacky metaphor as he performed at the Isle Of Wight festival over the weekend.
Talking about the moving nature of his music, he said: ‘Some of you may know I’ve lost my pet hamster recently. It’s a very emotional time.
‘All these songs are about my old hamster. I miss him terribly. Losing hamsters is hideous. It’s very bad because the cage all needs to be rearranged – the kids.’
Hmm. Could that ‘hamster’ be Billie?!
Laurence has already covered up a tattoo commemorating his marriage. The design originally featured the date of their nuptials and the nickname ‘Mrs Fox’, but is now a geometric fox that spreads over his forearm.
The pair wed at St Mary’s Church in Easebourne, West Sussex in December 2007, a year after they met while performing together in a stage production.
They’re parents to sons Winston, eight, and four-year-old Eugene.
It’s been the second divorce for Billie, after her well-publicised break-up with Top Gear host Chris Evans back in 2004.
