'It’s not fair. You don’t get to choose your partner'
Laura Whitmore has spoken out about those love triangle rumours.
Ever since the TV presenter was paired with Giovanni Pernice on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, speculation about a feud with his ex Georgia May Foote has been rife.
Laura is actually friends with ex-Coronation Street actress Georgia, 25, who split from Giovanni shortly before Strictly began.
But even so, rumours emerged of an ‘explosive row’ between the pair.
Laura initially denied this on her Twitter page. However, she then revealed that Georgia had unfollowed her on Instagram because she was posting photos of her and Giovanni in rehearsals.
Laura explained to You: ‘Georgia – who is a good friend of mine – has been lovely but I felt things had been spoilt before I’d even got a chance to start.
‘She did [unfollow]. But she’s following me again now. It’s complicated. I understand she doesn’t want to see pictures of her ex. But everything gets blown out of all proportion.’
Now Laura’s hit out at suggestions she and Giovanni had the hots for each other, telling Women’s Health: ‘It’s not fair. You don’t get to choose your partner; that’s not the dancer’s decision.
‘You can’t put two people together and say: “That’s gonna be a thing.” There has to be an attraction there.’
Laura and Giovanni, 26, were voted out of the programme on Sunday night, losing out in the dance-off to Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton.
While we’re sad to see the pair leave our screens, we hope this sorts things out between Laura and Georgia.
